Inquiring minds want to know

Submission…Question?

Put it on repeat “Is this a joke”?

You know the old expression that your parents gave when they said “Don’t make me repeat myself”. Well that was plainly the case this morning. Now I am not a parent but I definitely don’t like repeating myself. Especially at work. Now during this moment of repeating myself over and over I looked around and was wondering to myself “this is a joke right?” but sadly it was not a joke and in the mist of the phenomenon I’m looking at the two other coworkers that were witnesses to this event. I asked myself “they heard me right?” maybe I’m not speaking loud enough…trying to make sense of the whole situation. If that could be possible and so I continued repeating the same answer about three more times and by this time I was going to continue doing so till I looked like a complete ass. After the person finally realized that was the only answer I was going to give to them, they walked away back to their desk to tell this answer I repeated to them bout 7 times to the customer. I looked at the other two coworkers and asked them “you heard me right?”  I mean I was speaking English…wasn’t I?

Question?

Why do some pple insist of exposing their mid drifts and plummer’s cracks?  Do you NOT feel the cold air begging you to put away all of that flesh?

One of the things I hate about where I work is the constant flashing of mid drifts and ass crack!!  No matter the season!  There are a few individuals who seem to always have their bodies hanging out or spilling out of their clothing.  #NOTCUTE Example 1—-> There is the extremely hairy guy who sits at his desk with his shoes off but this is NOT even the issue.  Everything is fine until he turns around in his chair.  As soon as he turns around all that can be seen his a hairy ass belly sitting comfortably on his lap. WTH!! First question…Why the hell do you have on that “young” ass shirt?  Second question…Do you not feel the cool breeze creeping slowly over your overly exposed gut?  I just really hate seeing this.  I want to say something so bad and each time I find myself getting closer and closer to doing so.  I am not trying to be mean but we REALLY dont wanna see this…..

Example 2—-> On to the ass crack….There should be NO POINT IN TIME where anyone’s ass is exposed to another employee in my place of work.  Point Blank Period!  Why do I see the crack of your ass while you are standing next to my desk?  Do you even have on any underwear?  Nevermind! Don’t even answer that because it will prompt me to ask even more questions.  I know you felt all of that air when you bent down (exposing 80% of your ass) to pick up the pen you just dropped.  I just dont get this.  No one says anything not even our supervisor.  Pple just crack jokes at the ass crack that seems to never ever go away.  It makes it appearance daily whether we like it or not and we are the ones who have to suffer.

Final Thoughts

I can never understand why this constantly goes on.  These pple have to know that their bodies are being exposed to the public.  This is not the place nor time to be flashing folk.  No one is running around here begging for peep shows!  Do I even have a say in the matter?  Am I allowed to decline the daily dose of gut and butt? If so where do I sign up because I am definitely sick and tired of being forced to look at hairy mid drifts and pasty flat asses!

Anonymous asked: Media makes black people look bad but at the same time they also are accountable. But you don't see that many POSITIVE reality shows with a all black cast...but we got TWO negative shows on VH1, and no1 wants to support reed between the lines on BET. It may not even see a season two while bball wives get 35946946 seasons. I dont like that shit

The media plays a role in how people are portrayed in general.  Celebrities, Politicians, Locals etc.  The News being one of the main culprits.  My point is that these shows are less about race and more about entertainment and getting ratings.  Ratings are what determine if these shows even continue.  If you want to blame someone, blame the viewers, the people who “are” or “are not” watching these shows because again the viewers ultimately determine the fate of all of these shows.  Its not about it being BLACK women.  A person who would believe that all black women or all individuals  that are a part of any other group behave a certain way are simple minded and clearly have deeper issues.  The chicks on Mob Wives, The real housewives of NJ, OC, NY etc act out just the same.  When we say it makes black women look bad we are basically taking the heat for behavior associated with reality TV as a whole.  Its the genre itself “Reality TV”.  They all are designed to bring on the drama and viewers love drama.  I don’t know about you but when I watch TV, I want to be entertained.  If I’m not entertained then I move on to the next.  This is true for every other American.  I really really like the show Reed Between The Lines as well but maybe the majority doesn’t so its unfortunate.  Just because you and I like the show doesn’t mean the rest of America does.  Bottom line if pple are watching, networks make money.  And if they are making money, then why would they cut off their cash flow if its paying the bills?

Question?

Why do pple insist on standing in the way when they see that people are coming and going?

So, I’m on my way into the bathroom at work and there is this chick following closely behind me.  If I would have stopped mid step she would have been crawling all over my back (I’m sure a fight would have ensued).  Anywho, I go into one of the stalls…she goes straight to the mirror behind one of the sinks.  There was one other person in there and I’m guessing she either recognized her shoes or the person in the stall was peeping through the cracks.  At any rate they began a conversation.  So I do my business and proceed to the sink to wash my hands.  The entire time, they are talking loud as hell (the other chick is still in the stall) as if they are kicking it in someone’s living room.  I dry my hands and proceed to walk toward the exit.  While doing so, an older lady enters the bathroom.  Being cordial, when our eyes met we both give a half smile.  As we are walking towards one another, the loud ass chick that was riding my heels earlier is STILL primping in the mirror in the middle of the floor making it impossible for either one of us to pass.  So at this point of course I am BEYOND annoyed.  The lady squeezes by without saying a word.  I stop and I wait for approximately 3 seconds before loudly but politely saying “excuse me” (although I wanted to yell).  It took her about the same amount of time to move and she never even said “im sorry” or “go ahead” which would have been the polite thing to say.  After all you are in MY way!!!!

My Final Thoughts

I actually have several questions when it comes to this situation.  First of all why in “THEE” HELL do you need this much space to look at yourself in the mirror?  Could it be that she was admiring herself from head to toe?  Couldn’t be!  Because there is in fact a full body mirror in the bathroom that would not require that she take up much of the space that is apart of a really small space to begin with considering how many people work here.  GET THE FUCK OUTTA THE WAY!!!! Don’t you see the older lady squeezing through as if she is at a house party or in a packed sweaty club?  Do you see that I have literally STOPPED in my tracks after clearly being done?  Do you think that I’m standing here because I too would like to admire you from head to toe?  And WHY THE FUCK is your “friend” who is still in the stall by the way, talking to you while she is clearly taking a shit?  Like who carries on a full blown conversation while shitting out their dinner from the night before?   What I really wanted to do was push her ass outta the way so that the people (Myself and the older lady) who have proper “bathroom etiquette” (if there is ever such a thing) could pass and go on about our business.

Question?

What the hell are these faces these girls make in the mirror while taking pictures?  I hate that side mouth pucker shit!  Whatever the hell it is!  Who said it was cute?  This is one of the reasons I never really go on Facebook anymore.  So tired of seeing pple pose in the mirror with their camera phones with their mouths twisted to the side.  Is this supposed to a smile?  Sex appeal?  Constipation?  Hurt? Pain?

#Justsaying…WTH??

Question?

Why do some pple ignore the fact that they have skin just hanging from their lips?  Like don’t u feel that shit?  I know its cold and all but u gotta take care of your lips!!!!  Especially for us ladies…ITS A MUST!!!  I just hate coming into contact with these individuals.  Instead of me hearing the conversation or focusing on what you have to say all im thinking about is how crusty, crackety (if that’s even a word), and crunchy your lips look…I have heard NOTHING that you have said the past 2 minutes and I am trying so so very hard not to look at them but its like a train wreck…Personally, I always have stuff for my lips… I’m at work right now and below is what I have here just laying around…makes me want to just walk over two rows and allow this chick to take her pick….I know this seems harsh but u guys have NOT seen this….its the absolute worse!!!  This is NOT your normal everyday chapped lips.  To make matters worse she is nosy as hell and butts into EVERYONE’S conversation lips first…the lips just make it that much more annoying…So I just do the only thing to do in a situation like this…WALK AWAY…..

I’m just curious…WTH??

Question?

Why are you going so hard for no reason at all?

Co worker: Would it be wrong if I told this woman on the phone that I don't speak redneck?

Me: [Rolls Eyes] Would it be wrong if she came back and told you that she doesn't speak Bitch?

Be nice to our customers PLEASE...Geeeesh...After all it is the holiday season!!! No need to be rude and nasty....

Question?

“I like your straight hair better”....What makes you think I even care???

Leaving Work: So I’m walking out of the door, smiling, ready to start my 3 day weekend when I’m stopped by a random coworker from another account. We know each other by sight, only in passing and have exchanged cordial words and maybe a few laughs a few times.

Random Coworker: Your hair, I like it better this way…

Me: (Shocked) Well that’s too bad because it won’t be this way next week!!!

Random Coworker: But I like it THIS way

Me: (Annoyed) Ummm…I never asked you what you liked…Besides “I” like it both ways…This week I happened to like it this way and next week im gonna wear it the other way “I” like it…I wear my hair the way that “I” want to wear it!!!!!!!!!!!! (storms off disgusted…no longer smiling)

My Thoughts: First of all WHO THE HELL ARE YOU to me to even think that I would even CARE or give 3 shits or 4 fucks about what you like when it comes to me? Nobody, again I repeat Nobody!!! I DON’T know you…You DON’T know me….This is clear because if you knew me you would NOT have come at me with that BS…On any given day I speak ONLY to be cordial!!! I see so many fellow naturals and transitioners blog about these encounters but this was my first and I must say that I was REALLY REALLY REALLY annoyed (pissed). If his intentions were to compliment me on my “long, bone straight, silky, smooth hair” then he failed miserably…Anytime a person indicates that they like something else “BETTER”, the implication is that something is definitely wrong with the other thing that they are comparing “Better” to…You are implying that what “YOU” like on “ME” is superior to what “I” like on myself…The nerve!!!!!!!!! I just really hate that we (naturals and transitioners) are often put in these situations where some sort of explanation (rude or not) is needed in order to put people in their places when it comes to how we choose to wear OUR hair. All he had to say was “Your hair looks nice” from which I would have replied “Thank you” and kept it moving smile still in tact. Instead I was fuming all the way home prompting me to blog about this STUPID encounter….Most people on my job are used to seeing me with the straight hair as I have been there for almost 5 years…I wore it straight this entire time until 4 months ago…The last time I straightened it was August 11, 2011 so no one really said anything. Two other people commented without comparing the two looks. All who commented have been hired within the last few months and were all guys, but the first two did nothing anywhere close to the “RANDOM COWORKER” THAT KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT ME, WHO THOUGHT IT WAS OK FOR HIM TO VOICE HIS OPINION ABOUT MY HAIR IN A WAY THAT WAS NOT ONLY A COMPLETE FAIL BUT ALSO IN A WAY THAT WAS INGNORANT AND SIMPLE MINDED.

Question?

Why does every reality TV show that casts black women have to be “making us (black women) look bad?

I posted this on my main blog a while back but wanted to add it to this blog….

Ok, I want to start by saying “Please STOP saying that these shows are making BLACK women look bad”.  It’s not the shows that are doing this it is the people who are saying this.  They are bringing attention to the subject.  Then other people start believing the same.  Reality TV is not limited to BLACK women therefore neither is the drama.  There is drama on all of these shows (Real Housewives of New Jersey, Orange County, Beverly Hills etc) so please stop making it about BLACK women.  It’s not about race, neither is it about gender.  It’s all about the ratings as it’s strictly done for entertainment.  Why do you think that no one is ever really arrested for these “cat fights?”  In real life charges would be pressed and one or both would be spending the night in jail.  If you are not entertained by the shows just don’t watch them (and maybe you will get your wish some day)!!!  I just get so tired of people blaming drama on BLACK women and VH1, Bravo, Oxygen etc. The shows continue because we keep watching them.  Also, there is a such thing as editing.  We do NOT know these people personally and can not make accurate observations about their true character.  People are just so judgmental.  Sure we will have our favorites based off of what the producers and editors want us to believe about each character but who are we to judge?  What I think is really funny about the whole thing is that its mainly BLACK women who are saying this.  Stop making this about us (black women) when it’s about TV and entertainment!!
